Care of Products

Butters (shea butter, mango butter, kokum butter, etc.), are natural oils in solid form. Butters will melt if left in warm temperatures or may become firm and hard if left in extreme cold. This includes during shipping transit. The consistency of products may change based on the seasons, outdoor elements, and even the temperature indoors where your product is stored. If your product arrives and has melted due to extreme heat, place it in the refrigerator or a cool place for a few minutes and it will firm up. Or, if your product has become harder than you like, no problem! The warmth of your skin will melt it. Just rub a small amount between the palms of your hands to release the natural oils, then apply as usual.

Best care occurs if stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Most butters typically last up to a year if stored properly and kept out of wet conditions. Because we use the utmost care in preserving all vitamin elements, small clumps of shea butter may be noted in certain products. 

Shea butter naturally has a nutty scent. This is normal and, in fact, expected. The intensity of the smell typically dissipates within a few minutes of application.

It is also important to note that butters are products of nature and therefore may be slightly different with each batch.
